10 Fan Theories That Completely Change The Harry Potter Movies
2. Trelawney's Actually Super Gifted
Professor McGonagall has long been considered a skeptic of Professor Trelawney's abilities, but after this she might just have to eat her words. After the third years have their first Divination class, they're all a little uneasy, as thirteen year olds are wont to be after a proclaimed psychic predicts the death of one of their classmates. McGonagall brushes it off, contemptuously telling them that Professor Trelawney has been predicting the death of at least one student every year since she started teaching at Hogwarts. But maybe Trelawney has the people right, and it's just the timeline that's a little off. It's clear to fans that regardless of what people say, Trelawney does have some abilities as a Seer, as she has delivered at least two legitimate prophecies. What if when she said that certain people were going to die, she was actually predicting the deaths of the people who died during the Battle of Hogwarts? There were a lot of casualties among students and alumni, and it's far from a stretch to suggest that each graduating class of Hogwarts for the past seventeen or so years may have lost at least one among their number. Even Harry technically died during that battle, right? Food for thought.
