10 Fan Theories That Completely Change The Harry Potter Movies

3. Ron Is Dumbledore

This fan theory is a remnant of a time when everyone was still waiting impatiently for the books to come out, and clutching at straws to try and figure out exactly where J.K. was going to take the story. Despite the fact that it's been thoroughly disproved by this point, it's still really fun to watch the movies with this theory in mind. As the story goes, Albus Dumbledore is actually Ron Weasley from the future, who has traveled back in time to help Harry in his fight against Voldemort. The two characters are indeed physically similar, as both are described as being tall and thin with long noses and naturally red hair. Dumbledore mentions in the first book that he has a scar on his left knee that looks like a perfect map of the London Underground, and in Prisoner of Azkaban Ron suffers an injury to his left leg that would have almost certainly left a scar. They both have a love for candy, and there's an interesting anachronism at the end of the first book when Dumbledore mentions having loved Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans in his youth. This is impossible, as Bertie Bott wasn't even born until Dumbledore was in his fifties. Could this have been an elderly Ron Weasley slipping up? Yeah, it makes a lot less sense now that there's tons of background information about Dumbledore's life and family members, but it's still interesting to think about.
