10 Fantastic Actors Who Were Wasted In Recent Movies

5. Luke Evans - Murder Mystery

2019's Murder Mystery is the latest sludge to be churned out by the unfortunate Adam Sandler-Netflix partnership we've all been trying to ignore for the last few years. The film is a lazy, cliched comedy (a word I use loosely here) that does so little right it's difficult to watch.

The film's only redeeming feature at all is the performance of Luke Evans as Charlie Cavendish. The character itself is a moderately interesting turn (in comparison to everything else around him) but it is Evans' perennial charm that oozes out through the film, making brief moments close to watchable.

However, with the rest of the film such a train-wreck, the glimpses of Cavendish we receive are not enough to justify its existence as a whole.

Luke Evans' performance as Gaston in the live action Beauty and the Beast was rightly lauded and shows what the actor can do in an even moderately watchable film. Murder Mystery is sadly not that, and Evan's charm, effort and charisma are completely wasted in this dour, unfunny chore of a watch.
