2. Anna Paquin - The Irishman

The Irishman tells the story of mobster Frank Sheeran and his relationship with Jimmy Hoffa. The film marked a return to the gangster genre for Martin Scorsese and he brought with him some of his heaviest hitters to really stir up the fan-fare surrounding its release.

The film features an absolute who's who of legendary Scorsese collaborators. Sadly, hidden behind all the glitz and glamour of your De Niro's, Pesci's and Pacino's is a depressingly short cameo from the brilliant Anna Paquin.

Paquin manages only a measly few lines throughout her tragically short screen-time. It seems as though Scorsese relied too much on the old guard to carry the film and it's let down by this decision.

The Oscar-winning director has proven in the past he's not afraid to take risks by giving big parts to lesser known actors which has often resulted in them shooting to super-stardom (De Niro and DiCaprio have both benefitted tremendously from this), and if he had taken such a risk on the supremely talented Paquin we could have seen history repeat itself again. Sadly, instead we all have to watch a clearly past it De Niro struggle to beat up a green grocer *sigh*
