10 Fascinating Theories About Star Wars: The Last Jedi
7. Kylo Ren Is The Good Guy
Kylo Ren struggles with the Light Side just as his grandfather Anakin struggled with the Dark. Like Anakin, his failure to resist the other side of the Force could have its roots in the trilogy’s second movie with a triggering event that puts Ren on the path towards goodness.
Kylo Ren is full of doubt and insecurities, which were the flaws that drove Anakin down the high street of Eviltown. Those same attributes could force Ren to embrace his Light Side no matter how angrily Darth Vader’s mask glares at him.
Kylo Ren is a very villainous chap and does some pretty nasty things, but tellingly it’s General Hux, not Ren, who gives the orders on Starkiller Base so Ren is far from the least redeemable soul in The Force Awakens.
The movie ends with Snoke undertaking to complete Ren’s training. If Ren rejects Snoke's teachings at the crucial moment he could end The Last Jedi as far from the bad guy, and possibly as the galaxy's saviour.
