10 Female-Led Superhero Movies We Want To See
5. Catwoman (Yes, Again)
With Catwoman having had three major cinematic appearances over the last 25 years, as played by Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway, some might argue that the iconic burglar has already had her fair shake with audiences.
That said, if we discount the 2004 Catwoman movie for being a flaming trainwreck, the character has otherwise only served as a supporting attraction in Batman movies, so it'd be great to see arguably the most widely-known female superhero get her own film...and a good one this time.
If it leans into the grittier aspects of the character and doesn't just play itself for campy laughs, there's plenty that could be done with the right star-director combo.
How Likely Is It?: Actually pretty probable. It's been heavily hinted that the character will have a role in Gotham City Sirens, so the DCEU Catwoman will probably make her debut there, and if that version is well-received, it's easy to see a modestly-budgeted solo movie getting the greenlight.
Not all of these films need to cost $150+ million, and a Catwoman movie that focuses on her origins on the mean streets of Gotham (while facing off against an actual human antagonist) wouldn't need to cost even half the aforementioned price tag. With the brand recognition the character has, it'd be incredibly unlikely to flop.
Warner Bros. will probably get Gotham City Sirens and Batgirl out of the way first, but after that, it's very likely. 8/10
