10 Female-Led Superhero Movies We Want To See

3. Queen Hippolyta

Wonder Woman Queen Hippolyta Connie Nielsen

Though Queen Hippolyta might not be the most natural pick to star in her own solo movie, the character has made a terrific impression in her brief appearances in both Wonder Woman and Justice League, and it'd be great to see her past fleshed out in a full feature film.

From Connie Nielsen's statuesque performance as the character to her awesome costume design and the fact she eventually becomes mother to Wonder Woman while serving as an extremely powerful warrior in her own right, there's just so much potential here, especially if Robin Wright's Antiope is brought back, too.

Plus, the few female superheroes we have are almost exclusively women in their 20s and 30s, so wouldn't it be great to have a middle-aged woman leading the charge for once? Not that Nielsen looks it, mind.

How Likely Is It?: It's a great idea, but the DCEU is clearly preoccupied with getting itself back on track elsewhere, so even if this did happen, it likely wouldn't be for a long time.#

It's also probable that Nielsen may end up being too old to convincingly play a younger version of Hippolyta by the time that opportunity rolled around, unfortunately. 2/10
