The Aussie actress went down the buzz-cut road for her 2002 flick Heaven. Starring opposite Giovanni Ribisi (who also shaved his head for the film) Blanchett went the extra mile for the underrated movie. Heaven is the story of a woman whose husband is killed by a drug overdose, the fault of a major drug lord she is all too aware of. After finding no favour with the police, Blanchetts character Phillipa decides to take matters into her own hands, ultimately finding herself on the run for murder. Set in Turin, Italy the film deals with love, retribution and redemption and baldness. Often known as the style queen of the Hollywood red carpet, it must have pained Blanchett to lose her hair and go skinhead. The Academy Award-winning thespian showed why she is one of the best in the business however, sacrificing her hair for her art.
