10 Female Superheroes Who Should Get Their Own Film

8. Poison Ivy

Black Widow Scarlett Johansson
DC Comics

OK, so technically speaking, Poison Ivy isn't actually a superhero. In fact, by most standards, she falls decidedly under the category of supervillain. But she's one of those characters that you can consistently depend on to surprise you -- sometimes she's coming up with dastardly schemes that will absolutely end up with a body count, sometimes she's fostering a random group of kids. Poison Ivy is definitely a wild card. But more to the point, she's a crazy interesting character.

First of all, she's a botanist who can commune with plants -- how cool is that? She's basically what would happen to Layla from Sky High if she took environmental studies at Sky College and got radicalized. And while, sure, eco-terrorism is a terrible thing and 100% should not be endorsed, it introduces a little bit of a gray area into your villain cocktail if she's doing all of these bad things while trying to save endangered species and stuff. And let's be real, the dream would be a movie that is just about Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn (which actually may happen, if all this talk about Gotham City Sirens ends up panning out).
