10 Film Heroes You Didn't Realise Committed Shockingly Evil Acts

5. Richard Kimble (The Fugitive) €“ Commits Crimes To Prove He Didn't Commit A Crime

We all know the plot of The Fugitive, where Richard Kimble is accused of murdering his wife, goes on the run to prove his innocence and is pursued by a very angry Tommy Lee Jones. But the best way of proving you are innocent of murder is probably not committing a whole bunch of other crimes.

For starters, escaping from custody is a crime, even if you have been wrongly convicted. Kimble then poses as a janitor and breaks into a hospital where he steals medical records. He then uses these medical records to find the one-armed man €“ of course reading confidential medical records is also a crime. He tracks down the murderer, then breaks into his apartment. Finally when the murderer accidentally shoots a policeman, Kimble hides the gun, thereby becoming an accessory to murder.

Pretty much the same happens in the sequel, US Marshals, where a different innocent man is pursued by Tommy Lee Jones again. In addition to similar activities to the above he gets away with kidnapping and attempted murder.

Of course in the movie world, if you are wrongly accused of a crime then you can get away with all the above, because, law...or something...
