7. Nicolas Cage - Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider

With the success of The Avengers, Iron Man and The X-Men, it's almost easy to forget the Marvel comics adaptation and its sequel. Still, in 2007 Nicolas Cage brought Johnny Blaze to the big screen in Ghost Rider. A 43-year-old Cage dyed his close cropped hair black and clad himself in leathers for the role - perhaps not knowing that the Johnny Blaze of the comic book was scruffy, unshaven with long blonde hair and wore a black leather jacket over blue jeans and a t-shirt. The only thing more surprising than Cage's casting is the fact that he reprised the role in 2011's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
