10 Film Miscastings That Ruined Our Favorite Characters

6. Antonio Banderas - Armand

When first appearing on screen at the Theatre de Vampires in 1994's Interview with the Vampire, the Vampire Armand looks more like the late Peter Steele of the dark metal band Type O Negative, than his literary counterpart. In Anne Rice's novel and its sequels Armand is blonde, Russian and only 17 years old at the time he received "the dark gift." In stark contrast, the film version of Armand is fully adult with long black hair and of Spanish origin. While the film itself stands up and many fans forgive this and many other casting blunders---this decision leaves fans of the novel scratching their heads and asking, why?
