7. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
Set three years after the original, the Empire Strikes Back follows Luke Skywalker on his quest to become a fully fledged Jedi Knight, while Darth Vader is in pursuit of the Rebels across the Galaxy. When Vader ultimately catches up with the Rebels and captures them, Luke must make the choice of completing his training or going to rescue his friends. The second movie introduced us to series favourite Yoda for the first time, along with the feared bounty hunter Boba Fett. This movie also has the amazing battle of Hoth were we see the AT-AT walkers in action along with an epic lightsaber duel between Luke and Vader on Cloud City, where we learn that Vader is in fact Luke's father. Eat your heart out, Jerry Springer! What also sets the film apart from others is that there is no clear victory for the good guys this time around; the villain wins, almost making the audience feeling the same emotions as our heroes.
