10 Film & TV Characters Who Weren’t As Powerful As Their Usual Portrayal

8. Thor (The Incredible Hulk Returns)

Thor Incredible Hulk In the television movie "The Incredible Hulk Returns" - a spin-off of the popular television show "The Incredible Hulk" - David Banner meets a former student of his called Donald Blake, who explains that he now shares a mystical bond with the Norse god Thor and calls upon Thor to appear before them to prove his story. Thor appears and angers Banner to the extent that he transforms in to the Hulk and a battle ensues between the two in Banner's laboratory. Now, bearing in mind that, in the comic books, Thor can lift well in excess of a hundred tonnes, is completely bullet-proof (and is indeed capable of withstanding far more powerful assaults than bullets), can move faster than a bullet (in fact, using Mjolnir to fly through space he can travel faster than light) and has a load of esoteric powers thanks to Mjolnir such as inter-dimensional travel, teleportation, weather control and electricity manipulation, this version was far more disappointing. He could barely harm this version of the Hulk (who we'll get to shortly), was hurt by being pushed through a window and, when he smashed his hammer off a mere laboratory table, it very slowly travelled across the room (rather than flying several miles or being completely obliterated, as it would be if the comic book version hit it). Most bizarrely, Donald Blake was even able to use Mjolnir against Thor - picking up and using it to send him back to Asgard. Essentially, Thor was like a slightly stronger-than-average human with a hammer that gave people mild electric shocks. Poor.
