10 Filmmakers EMBARRASSED By Their Own Movies

4. Josh Trank - Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four is the kind of bomb that's mocked for generations to come by all who see it, and distanced away from by all involved with it - assuming that they even have a career afterwards.

According to director Josh Trank, the film's failure lies squarely at the feet of Fox, who apparently meddled with the project from minute one, so much so that the original superior cut of the movie has been lost to the editing room. He has since disowned the movie entirely, as Fox clearly just did not understand his vision.

While this is Fox we're talking about, so that's 100% possible, the supposedly superior cut of the original movie would still have had Miles Teller as Reed Richards and "it's clobbering time" be a reference to what Ben Grimm's horrible older brother would say before beating him.

So, it's unlikely that a technically superior edit of the movie would have positively impacted its overall quality.
