10 Critically Panned Films That Will Be Future Classics
4. Jennifer's Body
Horror films are rarely embraced by critics. Teen films are rarely embraced by critics, too. So what chance does a teen horror film have then? Jennifer's Body is not a terrible film. In fact, it's pretty good and the more times you see it the more you appreciate how good it actually is. The performances by Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried and Anthony Simmons are all spot on, while the dialogue, penned by Juno writer Diablo Cody, is sharp and funny. Critics, however, attacked the film and surmised that the horror/comedy simply wasn't funny or scary enough, ignoring that this film is intelligently camp. It deserves credit for trying something different with a stale genre. Hopefully in years to come the film will be famous for more than just Fox and Seyfried's make out scene.
