10 Films Delayed Due To Coronavirus
8. F9 (Fast And Furious 9)
Most people thought the Fast and Furious franchise couldn't be stopped. With eight films already under its belt, the ninth instalment was due for a summer release this year. But not even Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel can fight their way out of this awful situation.
The street racing thrillers have been going for near twenty years and still pull in millions in box office sales. With that in mind, the decision to postpone the release must have been a difficult one, especially with the promotional run in full swing already. What's surprising about this delay is that - while most films are pushing back a couple of months - F9 has been scheduled almost a year after the original date.
Following on from The Fate of the Furious, F9 will focus on a new villain. Dominic's brother has reared his head and is tasked to kill the head of the family. Jakob (played by John Cena) is an assassin hired by one of Dom's old enemies.
Fast 9 has suffered an eleven month delay and will now finally release in April 2021.
