10 Films Delayed Due To Coronavirus
6. A Quiet Place Part II
John Krasinski surprised everyone with his fantastic horror A Quiet Place back in 2018. The film made $100 million in profit domestically alone and gained several award nominations, which guaranteed a sequel would be greenlit.
Sadly, the highly anticipated follow up has suffered a huge setback. With the world premiere already over and done with, no one expected the film to be pulled just days before the worldwide release on March 20. The marketing campaign has been going on for months already, but has been made completely redundant.
Considering the marketing budget for the first film was around $86 million, that's a lot of cash for Paramount to have wasted. It's unlikely the studio will skimp on the second round of marketing - most likely using the delay to their advantage - but the impact is sure to be felt for smaller films currently in the pipeline.
A Quiet Place Part II will follow on from the events in the first film, with Krasinski once again writing, directing and starting in the picture. Having lost their home, the Abbot family must find a way to survive out in the wilderness.
The film is delayed indefinitely, with the studio and producers waiting to see how the pandemic plays out before rescheduling.
