10 Films Hollywood Should Actually Remake

Land of the Dead (2005) ended up being a surprisingly decent addition to Romero's original trilogy, taking the intensity and sentience archetype from its predecessors and amping it up to 10.

Unfortunately, whilst the cinematography adopted a darker palette than previous Romero films and the narrative was certainly intriguing, it fell short somewhat when it came to exploring the characters, both in the dynamics between human and zombie as well as the socio-political commentaries of American life. There's also something to be said about how powerful 'Big Daddy' (played by Eugene Clarke) is and how representation of race plays into a zombie film.

For that very reason, it seems only fitting that Jordan Peele would tackle a film like this, creating a script akin to that of Get Out (2017) and Us (2019) that focuses on a dystopian America (although we could argue America's already there on that one) that deals with the aftermath of a viral pandemic.

Peele's wit and eye for filmmaking, undeniably influenced by his love of the horror genre, could culminate in a semi-comedic horror film that both pays homage to Romero's legacy but also brings something completely new to the original film.
