10 Films That Turn 10 Years Old In 2014

5. Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgandy

Paramount PicturesParamount PicturesThank the beard of Zeus for test audiences €“ yes, you read that correctly - because without Joe public putting in their two cents worth, this comedy classic could have looked a lot different. Originally pitched and filmed as a period crime caper, where a gang of newshounds chase some bank robbing hippies up and down San Diego, a quick re-shoot and editing job saw the movie we now know remodelled and ready to enter comedy lore. Strutting around the canny setting of a 70s, ego-driven newsroom, Will Ferrell€™s (co-writing alongside director Adam McKay) moustached buffoon and his team of swaggering newshounds continue to draw quotable belly laughs as they drink, womanise and out-skit each other in what can safely be called referred to as this generation€™s Airplane.

With so many inspired moments to choose from - Paul Rudd's roving reporter, Mike Fantana, is a sleazy pleasure, kudos also to a jazz flute showstopper and a cameo-ladden newsman uber brawl - this one was always going to be a big deal.
