10 Films That You Never Realised Doctor Who Actors Were In

1. Jenna Coleman In Captain America

Jenna Coleman has made no secret of the fact that she tried to make a name for herself in Hollywood after enjoying leading roles in two of the UK's flagship shows (in the long running ITV soap Emmerdale she played lesbian Jasmine Thomas before taking on the role of "hard girl" Lindsay James in BBC's Waterloo Road). Unfortunately her venture Stateside was destined to go down like a lead balloon after a string of unsuccessful auditions - some of which can be watched on YouTube, if you know where to look - forced her to ultimately accept defeat. Thank God she did else she wouldn't have been cast as Clara Oswald! Jenna did manage to leave her mark (of sorts) on the Marvel universe before moving back to merry old England, though. She landed a blink and you'll miss it bit part in the 2011 blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger as Connie, the girlfriend of Bucky, Captain America's boyhood chum. At least her character got a name, right? It's nothing to write home about but it'll warm the cockles of your Whovian heart when she does pop up on your screen, albeit for 30 seconds. Them's the breaks. What did you think of this list? Are there any other films that people forget Doctor Who actors were in? Leave 'em in the comments section below!
