10 Films That You Never Realised Doctor Who Actors Were In
6. Matt Smith In Terminator Genisys
Unless you've been living in the Medusa Cascade for the last year or so, you should be well aware that Matt Smith will be appearing in the upcoming Terminator film 'Genisys'. You could be forgiven for not knowing otherwise, though, seeing as you can just about make out the outline of his head/chin (and that's only if you know what you're looking for) in one blink and you'll miss it shot in the trailer. The Eleventh Doctor actor will be playing Tim in the reboot - coming to a big screen near you this July - but that won't mean anything to you if you're not familiar with the franchise's expansive mythology. The character was introduced in Terminator 2: Judgment Day as the mulleted friend of John Connor (he's the leader of the worldwide human resistance - keep up!) and saved his pal when the arcade they were at was attacked by the T-1000 which had been posing as a police officer. You couldn't write this stuff, could you? At least this is one of Matt's film escapades that will actually be making it to the big screen. In 2013 he was handpicked to star in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River (originally entitled How to Catch a Monster) but the film was received so badly by critics that nobody picked up the distribution rights. It'll be released on DVD this spring, though, and in the meantime you can watch its official trailer in which Matt's character, Bully, demands that you look at his muscles. You win some, you lose some.
