10 Films That You Never Realised Doctor Who Actors Were In
5. Peter Capaldi In World War Z
World War Z is a 2013 apocalyptic horror film - inspired by the novel of the same name by Max Brooks - which follows the human race's desperate attempt to deal with an unfathomable zombie invasion. Seriously. It all escalates very quickly. With the end of the world seemingly nigh, it's rather befitting that our incumbent Time Lord, Peter Capaldi, shows up to aid Brad Pitt (because who else would the inhabitants of planet Earth turn to in their time of great need? Apart from the Doctor, of course!) in his exhaustive attempts to stop the ensuing pandemic before it's too late. The Twelfth Doctor star makes his understated appearance towards the end of the film as a scientist at the World Health Organisation. Coincidentally (especially as the film was released around the time Peter was announced as the Doctor), his character is credited as 'W.H.O. Doctor' which naturally fans of a certain long-running science fiction series enjoy way more than they probably should. Perhaps he actually was the Doctor or perhaps that's just this Doctor Who fan's inability to differentiate between what's real and what's not. Either way, Peter's fleeting inclusion is a welcome addition to this fast-moving thriller and Brad Pitt is pretty all right in it, too (just in case the fact he's in it was putting you off). Worth checking out.
