3. The Entire Matrix Franchise
Rated R for sci-fi violence and brief language To this day I am convinced that the only reason the original Matrix film got handed an R rating was the byproduct of selecting Marilyn Mansons Rock Is Dead to play over the ending credits. The song uses the F word in its chorus which gets repeated 3 or 4 times. Outside of that, Im lost.
The franchise is filled with big budget extended sequences of nonstop Sci-fi action and slow motion bullet dodging but theres never any blood. There is a boatload of carnage but it's all presented with style, not buckets of blood. Additionally theres never any usage of harsh language or nudity either. Its implied that major characters have had sex before and thats it. These movies were already huge financial successes so who knows what would have come of them if they were actually rated properly.
