10 Films With Multiple Different Cuts

6. Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

While it certainly divided fans on its release and was pretty much universally panned by the critics, it's fair to say that DC didn't really give Zack Snyder a fair crack at the whip for Batman vs. Superman.

While the theatrical cut can still be bought today, it's often released alongside what is dubbed the Ultimate Edition. While Dawn of Justice received a PG-13 rating in the States, the extended version was given an R-Rating, something fairly rare for comic book movies.

Though the cut isn't much longer, it still adds a little more context to certain scenes, characters and motivations, with its extra 31 minutes of footage.

In fact, upon its release, many critics felt that the Ultimate Edition would have probably resulted in a much better-received film, rather than the panning it got upon release.

With the Ultimate Edition we see the addition of the fantastic Jena Malone in the role of Jenet Klyburn, a small role, but an important one nevertheless, as she runs the analysis on a mysterious bullet that Lois Lane had found, something that was left out of the original.

There is also a little more context as to why Clark Kent was so fascinated with Gotham City as well. While these changes still don't really save the movie, it does make it a little easier to follow and does provide some much-needed subtext and context to a very muddled film.

There is reportedly also a Director's Cut for Suicide Squad available as well, but let's hope that DC just sits on that one.

Ben Maples hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
