9. American Pie

There's countless comedies that could place on this list, but in the fairness of variety let's keeping it down to just the one. And the zenith of unsuitable family comedy viewing has to be American Pie. Showing the attempts of a group of friends to try and loose their cherry before heading to college (because life ends after high school), the very concept tells us this is going to be a squirmer. But things are much worse. The majority of the film's humour comes from the awkwardness of parents and sex - the film kicks off with Jim caught watching porn, while the film's central scene has him caught in the act with an apple pie (homemade) - which could only get worse if your parents were experiencing it with you.

Thankfully the film's trailer made it very clear what the game was, so few parents would have been sat in the auditorium with their kids.

The Worst Bit: For sheer iconography's sake it has to be the apple pie scene. It caught the producer's attention so much they changed the title from the less catchy East Great Falls High. Thanks to the surrounding palava you still can't bring ourselves to buy a McDonalds apple pie.
