10 Films You Only Ever Remember Seeing The Trailer For

8. Onward

Onward was released earlier this year, set to be one of the most popular Disney movies to date, starring Marvel actors Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as brothers in a fantasy land, on a quest to spend one more day with their late father.

However, the film had the worst box office opening for any Pixar movie ever, overtaking The Good Dinosaur. The current events were not entirely to blame either, as many movies released in the same period, including The Invisible Man and Sonic the Hedgehog, overtook the film by miles. The end revenue result was more than disappointing.

For many audiences, it was the trailer that spoiled their excitement for the film in the first place. Pixar are famous for giving away a limited plot during their advertisement period, knowing that their brand and stars are what gains the cinema ticket sales. The movie trailer was designed to be primarily for the younger age category, in comparison to their family brand in which all ages are encouraged to watch and enjoy the films.

Although the stars actively promoted the movie as well, Disney had a less than successful beginning to the year.
