10 Final Girls (And Boys) Who Immediately Die In The Sequel

The Hitcher was a fantastic, eerie thriller from 1986 that quickly became a cult classic thanks to Rutger Hauer’s performance and the dreamlike nature of the film. The sequel on the other hand was a much trashier affair, though it wasn’t without its silly charm.

In the second film the final boy Jim is now a policeman and a paranoid mess, so what better therapy can he have than going for another long drive through the desert – this time with his girlfriend – and picking up another random hitcher? Needless to say this guy is crazy and in a fairly surprising twist Jim himself gets shot and killed about halfway through and his girlfriend is promoted to the lead.

Fans of the original were outraged, and while it does make the first film kind of pointless – since the killer was trying to teach Jim about the value of fighting for his life – the sequel at least gets some points for being a little ballsy.
