Blood, urine, semen, saliva, sweat - they're all a little disgusting, which of course means they are regularly depicted in movies. Most of the time, the appearance of these liquids is ridiculously childish toilet humor, but on rare occasions a film makes use of human bodily fluids to great effect. It's these movies we're focusing on for the 10 Finest Uses of Human Bodily Fluid in Cinema History. For this article we're going to look at 10 different bodily fluids - sweat, vomit, breast milk, nasal mucus, saliva, menstrual blood, urine, tears, pus, and semen. And, perhaps not shockingly, there are a lot of movies covering these liquids.
Honorable Mentions
The following fluids won't be covered in this article, but these scenes deserve mentioning in any article about the stuff that oozes from the human body. Vaginal Lubricant - Raging Bull - Cathy Moriarity's strategically damp nightgown haunted my prepubescent years Feces - Dumb and Dumber - simply the BEST disgusting bowel movement in cinema history Blood - Nightmare on Elm Street - the reverse waterfall of blood from Johnny Depp's death was classic Nasal Mucus Mixed With Saliva - Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls - the spitting with the tribal chieftain is greatness
10. Sweat - Airplane
I thought we'd start off with one of the least disgusting movie scenes featuring a human bodily fluid - the scene where Ted Striker (played quite well by Robert Hays) is literally sweating buckets at the prospect of flying an airplane after his disastrous combat mission. The liquid pouring off his brow is so over-the-top ridiculous that you have to laugh. Of course, sweat is an easy liquid to find in movies and television. There was even an episode of Cheers (the first episode, if I remember correctly) where Norm and the gang were discussing what film could be deemed the sweatiest movie of all time. They settled on Cool Hand Luke, if anyone cares.
