10 Flaws Which Prevented Max: Fury Road From Being Perfect
7. The Wives Are A Little Too Sexy
The Mad Max universe has never felt so lived-in as it does in Mad Max: Fury Road - despite the fact that we actually spend very little time seeing the residents of the Citadel going about their daily business yet still have a strong feel for the kind of lives they must lead is a testament to the exceptionally detailed production design. Just as the sets are meticulously detailed, so too are the appearance of the characters - in this post-apocalyptic landscape it comes as no surprise that practically everyone has suffered to some degree from the poisoning of the planet, and the War Boys in particular are often covered with warts, boils and other blemishes. Which brings us to Immortan Joe's wives, who have frequently been compared to Victoria Secrets models. While clearly this was entirely planned - they represent perhaps the only thing conventionally beautiful which remains in the world - given the hardships and diseases which clearly affect everyone else they're perhaps a little too perfect for the Mad Max universe.
