9. John Leguizamo
I am basing this entry completely on his Oscar worthy performance as Luigi in the epic movie that was Super Mario Brothers. Ok...maybe not. John Leguizamo is a guy that has all of the acting chops but rarely gets the platform to put them on display. Let's face it he has had quite a few annoying movies (see: The Pest, Super Mario Brothers, Doctor Doolittle and Spawn) but he has also proven he can bring it when put in the right role. When it comes to a movie like Empire Leguizamo was arguably never better. As the centerpiece of Empire John showed that he can be a leading man and show some serious range. If you have never seen Empire it is well worth a watch. Empire went under the radar but it is easily for all intents and purposes John Leguizamo's best film to date. John has a few movies coming out in the next few years but nothing that looks like it will show off the skill that he actually possesses. A modern day Scarface-esque film could do him some big favors as far as restoring his credibility and helping him live up to the potential that you might not know he has.
