10 FUNNIEST Epic Comedies Of All Time

4. The Great Race

The Great Race
Warner Bros.

Now to the gold standard for the sub genre of epic comedy, the very reason that this sub genre even exists to begin with. With that said, one of the originals is definitely The Great Race.

It's hard not to love a really good race movie, and while this movie ditches a few of the best elements of that sub-genre (it hyper focuses on just three of the racers instead of having an ensemble) it's all to the movie's benefit, as it becomes a tighter written movie.

The Great Race is one of the greatest comedies from the golden age of film, with a quirky cast of lovable characters, one of the funniest villains of all time, jokes that still leave you in stitches all these years later, and of course, Natalie Wood. Every movie is made better with Natalie Wood.

Being a movie made in the '60s, it can be a little slow at points, but once it gets going, it's one of the biggest and funniest comedies ever made. The pie fight near the end alone is worth your money.
