10 FUNNIEST Epic Comedies Of All Time

2. Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers 1980
Universal Pictures

SNL had tried to make movies based on their skits before and they DEFINITELY tried after, but no matter what, the original Blues Brothers still reigns supreme as not only the best of that bunch, but as the best movie set in Chicago ever made. Ask anyone from The Second City what movie best sums up what the city is like, and this is the one they point to.

A lot of that is because, in keeping with the epic comedy style, this movie captures how BIG Chicago is and feels. The last third especially has damn near HUNDRED of cops, national guard, Illinois Nazis (the worst kind of Nazis) and god only knows what else running after just these two guys. The film only gets funnier every time you watch it because it dawns on you more and more that all this mayhem was just caused by two loser ex-cons.

Add onto that the irreplaceable Carrie Fisher blowing up literally EVERYTHING in sight and some of the best music ever put to film, and you have a larger than life comedy that gets better and better with every viewing.
