10 Futuristic Sci-Fi Movies That Now Take Place In The Past

Reality TV is still everywhere on our screens, and even though we have to sit through unadulterated crap like Love Island and Keeping Up with the Kardashians, we still don't have a show that features competitors in nifty yellow jumpsuits being sent out to fight for their lives while being hunted down by gigantic mercenaries in sparkly outfits to the rapturous cheers of a bloodthirsty studio audience.

Admittedly that's probably for the best, but given the depths of which reality TV has plumped in recent years it still seems a little surprising that The Running Man's more murderous depiction of filming real people in real situations hadn't come to pass by 2019.

However, it still remains one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most criminally underrated and endlessly quotable action movies and managed to get at least a couple of predictions right about the lengths some studios would go to in an effort to grab those all-important ratings, but the show itself will remain a pipedream unless we really hit rock bottom and The Running Man marks Jeremy Kyle's inevitable return to the small screen.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
