10 Giant Movie Plot Holes That Everyone Chooses To Ignore
7. Silva Can Predict The Future - Skyfall
In Sam Mendes's 50th anniversary Bond special, Skyfall, James Bond meets his match in Javier Bardem's demented Silva. This guy hacks computers so hard he once won an island. But his most audacious plan, and the one you can see him pull off in Skyfall, is one he could have had no idea would work.
It involves Silva getting himself captured (also see: The Dark Knight, The Avengers, Star Trek Into Darkness... yeah, they should probably drop it now), hacking MI6, getting free, dropping a train on Bond's head (!) and almost killing M, all at very precise moments he couldn't possibly have predicted. Which basically means Skyfall is a very silly film.
But Skyfall is also a brilliant film, one of the best James Bond movies ever made (or the best ever, as some would argue), and a solid good time. It's one of the few Bond films that doesn't require the viewer to be a Bond nerd in order to enjoy it, though true 007 fans are probably in the best position to forgive this plot hole - when they've already had to deal with an invisible car and a double-taking pigeon, the old 'villain meaning to get caught' trick doesn't seem quite so bad.
