10 Giant Plot Holes You Probably Missed In Quentin Tarantino Movies

5. King Schultz's "Harebrained" Scheme in Django Unchained

This one went viral. When Django Unchained was released, Mike Ryan, writer for the Huffington Post in his review of the film called the plan Django and King Schultz form to rescue Broomhilda from the clutches of Calvin Candie both a "harebrained scheme" and a "convoluted plan." A few days later he received a phone call. Tarantino wanted to meet with him to discuss his review. What followed was a genuine surprise as Tarantino sat down with Ryan to have a friendly informal debate. Ryan pointed out that Schultz's plan in the movie for him and Django to become undercover Mandingo trainers was too risky and ridiculous since they could have offered to buy Broomhilda from Candie for an incredibly large sum of money. Even if Candie refused there still was way easier routes to securing her freedom than the one they took. Tarantino countered that it was in Schultz nature to take risks, but in the end consented that while he disagreed, Ryan did have a point. They concluded their debate pleasantly and left on good terms.
