4. Shootings, Drugs, Car Crashes, Hill Billy Defilements, But No Cops in Pulp Fiction
Once again, Pulp Fiction, Tarantino's second film does not play by the same rules as the rest of the universe. The film is a classic, a true landmark in cinema history that would go often quoted and mimicked in the years to come, but it does, however, contain a pretty big plot hole. Jules and Vincent show up at an apartment complex and shoot up a bunch of guys, but no one from the rest of building interferes and the police are not called. Later on in the movie, Mia Wallace, the boss' wife, overdoses on Vincent's heroin thinking it was cocaine. She is rushed to the house of Vincent's heroin dealer where he crashes a car in the front yard and they stab Mia with a giant syringe. Once again the police do not show up. Then in the story titled, The Gold Watch, Butch has a run in with the boss, Marsellus, who he is in big trouble with. He rams his car into Marsellus and then crashes it. Marsellus stumbles after him through the street randomly shooting his massive handgun. Still, no cops. Certainly don't want to live in the Pulp Fiction universe. Sure you could get away with speeding, but apparently anyone could kill you at anytime with no consequences.
