10 Ginormous Movie Franchises That Should Quit While They're Ahead

4. Predator

Predators Woah, what's this ginormous franchise about, then? The Predator franchise - in its most basic form - is about an alien creature from a distant world who really enjoys hunting humans in the same way that a human might like to hunt a gazelle, or a cow. The creature, known as the Predator, can go invisible at will, and generally refuses to stop until its prey has been murdered dead. The first movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, and then they spoilt things a bit with an ill-judged sequel, only to really, really scrape the barrel in later years with an Alien vs. Predator movie. Then came Predators. And it should quit? Why? When it was first announced that Predators was a movie that was going to exist, everybody groaned because expectations for movies in this series had gotten that low - when the flick actually came out, most people were pleasantly surprised and satisfied with what the filmmakers had done - carved a good, old-fashioned B-movie with no other aim except t to entertain you and remind you why you like Predator. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it was "pleasantly surprising," which - when it comes to this franchise - was akin to a gift from God. They're talking about making another one right now, but it's probably better if they let Predators have the final say.
