10 Good Films With Bad Titles
2. Room
Room was one of the best films of 2015. It's depressing, well written, and Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay give tour de force performances. It was nominated for four Oscars, and in a just world would have walked out of the Dolby Theater with five.
However, when most contemporary movie fans think of the word "Room," this isn't the film that comes to mind. Tommy Wiseau's 2003 so-bad-it's-good film, for all intents and purposes, has a "monopoly" on the title. Room would be a great title for Room, if it didn't remind audiences of a movie that's impossible to take seriously. It's hard to fully appreciate what Jack and Ma are going through when all you can think of is Wiseau's shouting "You're tearing me apart, Lisa."
