10 Good Films With Bad Titles

1. Inglourious Basterds

Birds of Prey Harley Quinn
Universal Pictures/Weinstein Company

Inglorious Basterds rocks. The revisionist World War II flick is one of Quentin Tarantino's best ever, with Christoph Waltz giving one of the creepiest villain performances in recent memory. It's darkly funny, powerful, and all in all a great film.

However, Tarantino decided to misspell "Bastards" in the film's title, replacing the a with an e. This asks more questions than it answers, and Tarantino has vowed to never answer it. It comes across as either pretentious or sloppy, suggesting a film that intentionally isolates the audience or is so poorly made it has a typo in the title. A correctly spelled "Bastards" would allow the audience to focus on the film itself, instead of the unnecessary complication of the title.
