10 Graphic Novels DCEU Fans Must Read

1. The Dark Knight Returns

Dark Knight Returns Thumb
DC Comics

This book is one of Batman's classic tales, with the novel serving as a (very loose) adaptation for Bruce's character arc in Batman V Superman, with even the art inspiring the Batsuit that appeared in said film.

The Dark Knight Returns is set in an alternate universe in which Batman has retired after the death of Jason Todd (the second Robin). However, after ten years of retirement, crime is at an all time high in Gotham and at the age of fifty-five, The Dark Knight - you guessed it - Returns.

For those who enjoyed the film, later in the series, there is even some 'Batman V Superman-esque' action when the two characters end up battling.

The series is written by Frank Miller, a man who has somehow managed to carve out his own Earth in the DC multiverse, this Earth being where his seminal tales such as Batman: Year One, the more over-the-top All-Star Batman, and, obviously, The Dark Knight saga are canon.

Whether you are fan of Batman V Superman, or just a fan of the caped crusader himself, then you must read this stellar graphic novel (and its more recent continuations).
