10. The Last Stand
If you blinked in January you might have missed it. Maybe you were just skeptical, maybe the weather was just insufferable around your area. Arnold returned to the big screen in January though with The Last Stand. This film marked the stateside directorial debut for Kim Jee-Woon known for Asian revenge flicks such as I Saw The Devil. The Last Stand is certainly more basic than that film but it was overall a good outing. Sure there was cheesy dialogue but it's a movie starring action film icon Arnold Schwarzenegger. Would you want it any other way? The Last Stand also starred notable actors Johnny Knoxville and Luis Guzman. Together with a few more inexperienced goofballs this small town squad of police officers gets tangled up in ensuring a dangerous criminal doesn't cross through their town as it's the last obstacle between freedom. It's a throwback to action movies of the 80's done in respectable fashion. It also has this great balance of action, comedy, and one liners. Most notably though Arnold proved he still has it. Unfortunately, no one saw it and the film lasted in theaters around two weeks. You can also see Schwarzenegger in The Tomb later this year.
