8. The Lords Of Salem
Rob Zombie does not have the slightest bit of an impressive track record. Most of his films embrace and overindulge in white trash redneck profanity and feature dozens of nude scenes. The Lords of Salem is not a masterpiece by any means although it showcases a sincere progression and maturity within his films. It still has his wife Sheri Moon Zombie gratuitously getting naked but its also an unnerving atmospheric horror film. If youre a fan of David Lynch or abstract arthouse horror than you may want to check The Lords of Salem out. Theres a plethora of unsettling striking imagery containing demons, sacrificial ceremonies, Satanism, and a scene of Sheri performing fellatio on a Priest. The movie may be deceptive in its complexity and is mostly a 90 minute White Zombie music video praising Satan but it was always interesting. Rob Zombie has potential and it shows in this film.
