Whilst the stage musical "Rock Of Ages" used the song first, the movie version feels like no more than an attempt to cash in on the success of that song in that TV series. Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin are atonal enough in their roles but central to the films problems is Tom Cruise, an A list star who clearly cant sing but is starring in a musical. Almost as if he didnt know what he had signed up for, he looks bored most of the time and when he bursts into 'I Wanna Know What Love Is' you suddenly yearn for the original version by Foreigner, which is saying something.
