10 Great Characters Who Could Replace Marvel Movie Heroes (And Who Should Play Them)

9. Kate Bishop (Hawkeye)

This one might seem a little pre-emptive seeing as Clint Barton hasn€™t had his own solo outing as the Arching Avenger or even a meaty supporting role in a film (something that€™s set to change in 2015€™s Age of Ultron), but Kate Bishop is too great a character to go without mention on a list like this. The daughter of aristocratic parents and a member of the Young Avengers, Kate took on the mantle of Hawkeye when Barton was presumed dead but clung on to the name even when he returned, much to the confusion of the general public and glee of synergising marketeers. She can currently be seen gracing the pages of Matt Fraction, David Aja and Annie Wu€™s Hawkeye comic, where she regularly attempts to sort Clint€™s life out, gets into mad scrapes of her own and occasionally steals the other Hawkeye€™s dog. (Okay, once.) Oh, and she€™s also a teenager. Who doesn€™t want to see a Hawkeye like that? Anna Kendrick has the requisite dramatic and comedic chops to pull off a role in the MCU, and there's no doubt she's got the dedication to be able to soar in an action role.
