10 Great Films That Take Place In A Single Location

9. Exam

Al Pacino Dog Day Afternoon
Bedlam Productions

Exam sets out a puzzle from the start and gives the audience an hour and a half to figure it out along with these characters. Eight people arrive for a job interview and they're brought into a room to be administered an exam. The proctor explains that the exam has only one question, and they must not talk to the invigilator, spoil their paper or leave the room.

The time begins, but here's the catch: all of the papers are completely blank.

The candidates soon realize that they're allowed to talk to each other, so they begin working together to figure out what the hell is going on. It's so much fun seeing them reason through the puzzle and try to function as a team, going through everything you'd think of when presented with this strange problem.

The ending doesn't disappoint, and yes, it is actually possible to figure out the puzzle with the information presented. The solution doesn't come out of nowhere. This is an interesting mind bender with compelling characters and an intriguing mystery, and yet it never needs more than a single room.
