10 Great Films You Can't Admit You Love (And Why)

4. The Sixth Sense

The Sixth Sense Ending
Buena Vista Pictures

Similar to Michael Bay's The Rock, The Sixth Sense is a legitimately great film that is sadly attached to the name of a director who is now one of the most lampooned in the industry.

The Sixth Sense is eerie, compelling and for its time contains the quintessential "twist". Even if you haven't seen the film you almost certainly know how it ends. It's easy to forget, but at the time The Sixth Sense's twist was genuinely revolutionary.

Now, however, The Sixth Sense has been transformed by popular culture into the epitome of cliche, its twist an example of the most basic and contrived reveals.

Not only that, but it's an M. Night Shyamalan film, a director who based on his recent output couldn't make a decent film to save his life.
