Sleepaway Camp was a 1983 exploitation horror film that was essentially a cheaper version of Friday the 13th with a twist - the killer was a transgender girl called Angela who, after surviving a horrific boating accident which killed her father and twin sibling, went crazy and killed a load of campers. The film was a success in its own right and spawned four sequels - only three of which were actually completed until the 1992 instalment, Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor, which was halted during production due to the studio going bankrupt, was completed in 2012 by mixing the original footage with archive footage from the previous three films. A reboot is supposedly already planned, but these things usually end up in development hell for years. That said, it would be a welcome move for horror fans to see one of the lesser known classic slasher movies get the same treatment as the likes of Halloween and Friday the 13th.
