After reboots for the likes of Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, Halloween's Michael Myers and Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees, surely it's about time that the other true icons of horror received a modern makeover - and Hellraiser's Pinhead is definitely one of them. Pinhead is the leader of the Cenobites - a group of torturous extra-dimensional beings who take the form of ritually mutilated creatures with varying degrees of human characteristics and who can travel to Earth when someone solves the puzzle on the box known as the Lament Configuration. It has been reported that a reboot is already planned - with original writer and director Clive Barker taking charge and original actor Doug Bradley taking the role of Pinhead - but nothing ever seems to happen. It would surely go down a storm with horror fans - the Cenobites could look so cool with a modern big budget - and, perhaps more importantly, it would prevent any more awful straight-to-video sequels to the original franchise being made (there have now been eight sequels, five of which didn't get a cinematic release).
