Look, dogs are great. They give you unfaltering love and affection, are always up for a game of catch, and make great footrests. But are they really worth risking your and everyone else around you's life for in a zombie apocalypse? Gonna say a hard "no" to that one.

Unfortunately, that's what Nicole does in Zack Snyder's 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.

Portrayed by Librarians actor Lindy Booth, Nicole is a young survivor who becomes infatuated with a dog named Chips. Her love for the pooch is so strong that she decides to go after him when he gets trapped outside the mall her group is hiding in with the reanimated corpses.

This leads to her crashing a truck, which leads to her getting stuck with the zombies, which leads to the rest of the group having to rescue her, which leads to the mall becoming overwhelmed, which leads to them all having to escape.

All over a dog. Nice one.

Nicole's bad decision making annoyed viewers beyond belief. If she hadn't been so reckless, then maybe more people might have survived Dawn of the Dead.

Oh well, at least Chips lived. Whoop-de-doo.
